Who We Are

Your Hosts

Hi there! We’re Josh and Cara, a husband-and-wife team dedicated to elevating the guest travel experience through exceptional accommodations and outstanding hospitality. Born and raised in North Carolina, we met while attending East Carolina University, where we pursued careers in nursing and science. Our professional journeys have taken us on many travels, deepening our appreciation for clean, well-maintained spaces that truly feel like a home away from home.

 

In 2020, we launched our first cabin rental, Rustic Dreamscapes, with a vision to go beyond the typical hotel stay—offering high-end furnishings, luxurious amenities, and thoughtfully curated family-friendly activities, all within a private and serene setting. Our passion for hosting has since led us to expand into other markets across Tennessee and North Carolina.

 

We genuinely value each and every guest, which is why our properties are designed with all types of travelers in mind. Your comfort and satisfaction are always our top priority, and we’d be honored to host your next unforgettable getaway!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your check-in and check-out times?
Our standard check-in time is 4:00 PM EST, and check-out is either 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM EST, depending on the property. If you’d like an early check-in or late check-out, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but availability depends on our cleaning schedule. To guarantee early check-in, you can add it to your stay at the time of booking. This allows us to schedule the necessary staff to uphold our high sanitation standards before your arrival.
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes! We provide high-quality, clean sheets, towels, and blankets for guest use at all of our properties.
Do you allow pets?
We do allow dogs (but no cats or other pets) at some of our properties. Up to a maximum of 2 dogs are allowed at Whatever Floats Your Boat and Rustic Dreamscapes. There is a pet fee of $100 per dog that must be paid at the time of booking.
Do your properties have cookware?
Absolutely! Each of our properties has a fully equipped kitchen, all with stainless steel appliances, pots and pans as well as all essential dishware, cookware, bakeware, and cooking utensils. We also provide some cooking essentials, including salt/pepper, cooking oils, and condiments.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is the same as the most flexible policy on VRBO. We offer this policy as a courtesy to our guests as we understand that plans can sometimes change. We provide a 100% refund up to 14 days prior to arrival, 50% refund up to 7 days prior to arrival, and no refund if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival. We also encourage our guests to consider purchasing travel insurance to help cover unanticipated events that may lead to trip cancellation.

Even better than the pictures! We absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait to come back. This was our 8th time in Emerald Isle and by far the best place we’ve stayed. The condo itself is beautiful and has anything you could need. We loved sitting out in the back porch overlooking the pool and reading in the swing chairs out front. The beach was a very short walk away! We will definitely come back.

What a beautiful cabin! We spent the 4th of July week at Cara’s cabin. Beautiful view. Home was very clean and relaxing to our family. Game room upstairs was a total hit. Having a hot tub on the second floor was a great relaxing spot from our day to day activities. Cara was very personable and easy to communicate with. We would definitely be booking this cabin again. Multiple pools throughout the neighborhood. Highly recommend this spot for your next vacation!

We enjoyed our weekend so much! The place was absolutely beautiful, and we loved everything about it. Cara made our stay so easy.. towels, linens, etc. were all included and the special touch of having cute travel size self-care products were an extra bonus. The location was perfect and there were so many things to do (in walking distance). We went to Swansboro every day and ate at delicious Yana's twice. We enjoyed dining at Boro Restuarant Sat. night, the food was delicious, and the live entertainment was great. We also went to Mac Daddy's because we were celebrating our son's 14th birthday. The game system in the kid's bedroom brought lots of entertainment, my husband and three sons all enjoyed it! I will say it has been the best birthday celebration yet. Thanks so much Cara!

This was our first time staying in the Gatlinburg area and we were so excited to stay in this beautiful cabin in the mountains. The cabin was perfect for our family (our children are 3, 12, and 13). The game room/bunk area was perfect for our older kids and we all loved the hot tub. The views from the cabin were absolutely breathtaking and just what we needed.

I’ve never had such wonderful communication as I had with the owners. The cabin was spotless. You can tell the cabin is important to the owners. To make the trip even better was a momma bear and her three cubs walking around and near the cabin for at least a half an hour. We’ve been coming to this same area for 36 years and have never seen that.. This cabin will be number one on my list when we come back.
